Round 6...FIGHT!

Hey minions, sorry we didn't write anything yesterday, Squishy and I were both pretty busy. Squishy was watching Bridezillas and raised an interesting question though..if your fiance turned into a bridezilla, would you consider leaving her?

Supernova: I probably wouldn't leave her. Weddings are insanely stressful! Our whole lives we are fed these images and ideas of a fairytale wedding, and we feel like our wedding has to be perfect. Our friends and family pressure us to have a beautiful wedding also and we want to impress them. So much pressure goes onto the bride to not only make her wedding the best day of her life, but also to make it fun and memorable for her guests. It's maddening and if a girl gets overwhelmed, I can certainly understand. I wouldn't blame her at all and I certainly wouldn't leave her.

Squishy: I do agree with Supernova that we are force fed our whole lives about the fairytale wedding, blah, blah, blah, but come on. I would definitely consider leaving anyone who is a bridezilla. I think that it could be a stressful time trying to get everything together, but why be rude and put down the people who care about you the most. A wedding is something that is SUPPOSED to be happening because you love someone, not so you can be superficial and materialistic. I feel that anyone who wasn't a bitch before, and becomes a bridezilla is really showing their true colors. What happens after you get married when something doesn't do your way in other life decisions. I wouldn't leave her outright no, but I would give her a stern talking-to, and if that didn't change anything, you're going to have to find someone else to get married to.

So, what do you think? If your wife-to-be turned into a bridezilla in the midst of planning the wedding, would you consider leaving her?

  2. Probably, but then again, I think marriage as a whole is an outdated, over rated and, essentially, useless religious practice. But then again, most people seem to like it; but then again again, more than half of marriages today end in divorce. Maybe if people could have a wedding, but not actually get married, then they could live happily ever after.

  3. I totally agree with Squishy on this one; wouldn't leave outright but having a serious talk would be important. I understand that it can be a stressful time, but you're getting married because you love the other person that much. You're NOT having the wedding so that you can show your family and friends how fancy and awesome your wedding is going to be; THAT'S where the stress comes from that turns people into bridezillas.
